Cabane Panache: Back for a 14th Edition

Bring out your plaid shirts and get ready for sticky fingers covered in maple taffy: Cabane Panache, in collaboration with BENELUX and Coureur des Bois, is back from March 19 to 22, 2026 for a 14th edition set to light up Verdun. Considered the largest maple celebration in Montreal, the event transforms Promenade Wellington each year into a vast, sugar-fueled playground that’s festive, indulgent, and unmistakably Québécois. Over four days, time-honoured sugar shack traditions are reimagined in an urban, welcoming format that’s accessible to all.

Held outdoors between de l’Église and Willibrord streets, Cabane Panache offers a one-of-a-kind experience where the traditional sugar shack takes on the feel of a neighbourhood festival. Free and easily accessible from De l’Église metro station, the event draws families and curious epicureans alike, all coming to soak up the warm atmosphere and enjoy a fully free lineup of local musical performances.

At the heart of the festivities, the “cookerie” spotlights 18 Verdun restaurateurs competing in creativity as they reinvent Québécois classics in street food format. At wallet-friendly prices ($6 or $8 per bite), visitors can sample decadent creations like Station W’s French toast–style grilled cheese with cheddar, bacon, and maple syrup; Villa Wellington’s maple dulce de leche churros; or Restaurant Rita’s Italian-style mini fried pogos. And of course, beloved staples like maple-infused pea soup are also on the menu.

No Cabane Panache would be complete without maple taffy on snow by David Lessard, aka “Le Sucrier Urbain,” faithfully stationed in the forest zone to satisfy every sweet tooth. On the drinks side, the official Cimonak! craft beer brewed by BENELUX, with its smoked maple notes, flows freely, while the Coureur des Bois family presents its maple whisky creations. The Espace bouésson rounds out the offering with signature cocktails, hot ciders, and craft beers imagined by Promenade Wellington establishments including Bar Social Verdun, Le Billy, Maltéhops, and Verdun Beach. In short, everything is in place for a truly festive evening.

True to its community spirit, Cabane Panache celebrates Quebec’s maple heritage in a vibrant, urban format. Between gourmet bites, local music, and a lively atmosphere, the event once again stands out as a must-attend celebration of maple in the heart of the city. Happy sugaring season!
