POCHA MTL: The Korean Street Food Festival Is Back!
From July 24 to 27, POCHA MTL takes over the Peel Basin for its fifth edition—four days of culinary discoveries, K-pop performances, and a festive outdoor atmosphere. This lively street market—the largest of its kind in Quebec—celebrates everything that makes South Korean food culture so vibrant: spicy tteokbokki (rice cakes), Korean fried chicken, kogos (Korean-style corn dogs), dak kochi (chicken skewers), and japchae (stir-fried glass noodles)… everything a foodie could dream of.
Inspired by pojangmachas—the classic street food stalls found all over South Korea—POCHA recreates the unique atmosphere of these lively carts where people eat well, drink (soju, of course!), and enjoy the night in a warm, laid-back setting.
This year, more than 25 restaurants are taking part in the event. There’s something for every palate, with a wide range of offerings. Meat lovers will be thrilled with the crispy pork katsu from Katsuya, while adventurous eaters can try the flame-grilled squid with gochujang sauce. We’re also loving the tanghulu (fruit skewers coated in crunchy sugar) from Cloud 8, adding a sweet finish to the experience. And to wash it all down, nothing beats a refreshing boba tea from Palgong Tea. Don’t miss one of our top picks, Les Crazy Chickens—their Korean fried chicken is absolutely delicious!
