Unfortunately, this establishment has permanently closed its doors.
However, we still wish to leave the content of this article available in order to keep a record of this place.

Great news! The owners of Ratafia, known for its amazing desserts, Sandra Forcier and Jared Tuck, have listened to their customers and opened Nanana in July 2023, just a few steps from Jean-Talon Market.

It all began when loyal customers at Ratafia suggested to Sandra and Jared at the bar that they invest in a new project together. The desserts at Ratafia were such a hit that there was constant demand for take-away options. “We were always being asked for take-away desserts at Ratafia […] we needed a new challenge, and Jared had always dreamed of having an ice cream shop,” explains Sandra. One thing led to another, and the project took shape as the couple began looking for a location, eventually finding one near the market.

At Nanana, you will discover beautiful, playful, creative, and colorful desserts offered in individual portions, with some available in larger sizes. Among the must-tries are the famous Medovic (Russian honey cake) and the Bower, a small, colorful dessert that changes with current inspirations. For your first visit, we highly recommend the discovery box, which includes six individual desserts. Ideal for families, Nanana also offers cake pops made from cake scraps, which are given free to children. In the summer, in addition to their kiosk at Jean-Talon Market offering a selection of their desserts in frozen versions, Nanana also serves as an ice cream parlor with flavor twists changing every two weeks, as well as sundaes. “We create desserts that are funky, original, and fun, but with accessible and straightforward flavors […] we wanted to offer desserts that appeal to both children and adults,” explains Sandra. Indeed, you won’t find curry twists but rather perfectly executed classics like chocolate-vanilla.

The small space at Nanana matches its creations: lively and exuberant, with a lovely backyard that can easily accommodate multiple families. It’s the kind of place that offers something unique where everyone can find something they love. Here’s a little scoop (!) – stay tuned for a collection of children’s desserts coming soon to Nanana.

Enjoy your discovery!
