Behind Numéro are Marc, Félix, and Alex, whom many first came to know through the late Entre-Deux in NDG. In Little Italy, they bring to life a project that had been in the works for quite some time: a contemporary cocktail bar that is precise, inspired, and thoughtfully executed in every detail. Driven by a desire to recapture a certain energy once found in Montreal’s great cocktail bars, the team has created a venue that seeks to fill that void in its own way.

Setting up near the city’s gastronomic revolution

Choosing Saint-Laurent Boulevard for Numéro was no coincidence. This stretch of the city is buzzing with culinary energy — a true playground for Montréal food lovers. Between Mon Lapin, Parapluie, Salle Climatisée, Limbo, and many others, the neighbourhood has become a hub for refined and inspired dining. Numéro fits right in, operating at the same caliber — but on the spirits side.

There’s also that strong sense of community connecting Little Italy, Mile End, and Outremont. Numéro slips naturally into this fabric as a neighbourhood bar — a place to gather, chat, laugh, and enjoy a great drink.

A raw design and a hushed atmosphere

Deep brown tones frame the room in a nearly brutalist spirit. The furniture nods to the 1970s, striking a balance between warmth and restraint. Nothing is left to chance — not the clean lines of the bar, nor the ultra-dim, almost aphrodisiac lighting. The space was designed by architect Kevin Botchar in collaboration with Studio Kiff.

Here, seating is mandatory. No standing crowds, no loud chaos — comfort comes first, and it changes everything. The atmosphere, though minimalist, is anything but cold. Attentive service and highly expressive cocktails bring a human warmth you feel from the very first sip.

A thoughtfully crafted cocktail menu

At Numéro, every drink is a small work of art — unique creations executed with precision and personality. Classics are mastered just as flawlessly, of course. The team makes sure no one waits more than ten minutes for a cocktail — a rare feat! You’ll recognize the same attention to detail found at Entre-Deux, translated into a completely different universe. You sip, you discover, you exchange. You feel good — simply put.

“I wanted to create the place I’d want to go after service — a bar where you can drink a perfect martini, with zero compromise on the atmosphere,” says Alex. Mission accomplished: Numéro is exactly that kind of place.

Great news for night owls: the kitchen stays open as late as the bar. The short, no-frills menu draws inspiration from Spanish-style bar bites — pan con tomate, charcuterie plates, soldados, and boquerones. Perfect for snacking without breaking the rhythm of a great conversation.

Numéro is the ideal bar for an intimate date, a cozy moment with friends, or a last drink after dinner (or after service!). A must-discover.
