Japan Week 2026: A Culinary Journey in the Heart of Montreal
Japan Week returns for its 6th edition, from May 1 to 10, 2026. A week dedicated to discovering and celebrating the richness of Japanese culture through a variety of culinary and cultural experiences.
For ten days, Montreal will tune into Japan through a culinary and cultural program that invites you to discover the full richness of its traditions and craftsmanship.
Japan Week is an initiative of ASIASIE (POCHA MTL, YATAI MTL), a non-profit organization founded in 2018 by Yasuko Tadokoro and Thien Vu Dang, whose mission is to build bridges between Asia and Quebec by championing inclusive, accessible projects rooted in the joy of bringing people together.
Once again this year, more than 20 restaurants will be taking part in Japan Week. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore the city through the participating venues and taste Japanese cuisine in all its diversity: comforting ramen, generous donburi, fresh sushi, convivial izakayas and exclusive creations imagined especially for the event. An invitation to eat, connect and take the time to discover the artisans who bring this culture to life with passion.
Beyond the culinary side, Japan Week also offers a deeper dive into Japanese culture through a range of participating shops, pastry boutiques and activities. Venues such as Couteaux Japonais Stay Sharp, Atelier Sakura, Kyoto Fleurs and CHARYŪ par Thés Guru will be offering products, workshops and experiences centered on Japanese craftsmanship throughout the event.
A rich program that invites you to experience Montreal to the rhythm of Japanese flavors, gestures and traditions.
