Here are our takeout suggestions for Valentine’s Day in Montreal!

Arthurs Nosh Bar

Arthurs Nosh Bar is a charming Saint-Henri address, known for serving one of the best brunches in the city. The restaurant also offers delivery and takeout—perfect for recreating the experience at home. And we won’t hide it: we have a soft spot for their famous cottage cheese pancakes. A guaranteed way to surprise your partner with a truly (very) successful wake-up.

Jun I

Jun i is one of the best sushi spots in Montreal—if not the best, in our opinion. It’s the perfect place to mark a special occasion or simply treat yourself to outstanding sushi. Without a doubt, it’s one of the team’s favorite addresses, one we recommend with our eyes closed. Chef Junichi Ikematsu is among the city’s great talents, and the restaurant’s signature style is defined by remarkable finesse and impeccable freshness. As usual, Jun i opens a limited number of takeout slots—though we suggest ordering early in the day, as the spot is especially coveted for Valentine’s Day.

folfol

Folfol is the counter-service sister to Damas. A generous, health-forward address and clearly one of the best Middle Eastern options in Montreal. Here, the focus is on authentic Syrian street food rooted in family recipes, with dishes full of character. You’ll (obviously) come for the sandwiches that built its reputation, but for the occasion, why not opt for a true mezze feast—hot and cold? The eggplant mutabbal, yalanji (stuffed grape leaves), ultra-tender lamb shawarma over saffron basmati rice studded with golden raisins, and to balance it all, a crisp fattoush salad—one of the best in the city. For dessert, we love the Pistachio Baklava Biscuit. Add your favorite bottle, and dinner is served.

Thammada

Thammada, on Bernard Avenue in Outremont, focuses on well-executed Thai street food: comforting dishes, bold flavors, and precisely balanced spices. The menu translates perfectly into a true Valentine’s Day feast at home without losing any of its charm. The Pad Thai—always satisfying—remains the house classic and one of the best in town. For the occasion, the team will also open a few takeout slots, so be sure to pre-order in advance.

Moccione Pizza

Moccione Pizza, a delicious Villeray address, has drawn crowds since day one—partly thanks to the name’s reputation, but mostly because the pizzas are truly decadent. It also appears on our list of the best pizzas in Montreal. On the menu: smile-inducing pies like the “Cala-boogie” and the “Bravo champignons,” along with a few shareable starters, including their famous polpette. You can also grab a beautiful bottle for the occasion—mostly natural wines—and to finish on a sweet note, we never say no to cannoli.

Satay Brothers

Satay Brothers is one of our favorite spots in the city and a must for fans of Asian cuisine. It’s also one of our Saint-Henri favorites and appears on our list of beautiful, delicious, and affordable addresses. The menu highlights Southeast Asian street food classics, with excellent noodle dishes and some of our favorite steamed buns. We highly recommend the laksa soup—one of the best in the city—as well as the papaya salad, perfect for adding a little spice to your Valentine’s Day.

Sushi Bar Kim

Sushi Bar Kim, in Westmount, focuses on sushi prepared to order—among the best in the city—with impeccable freshness at the heart of the experience. The address also offers a few poke bowls and comforting teriyaki dishes. All that’s left to do is open your best sake for a romantic at-home dinner, takeout style.

Petit Poisson Dumpling

Petit Poisson Dumpling is clearly one of the best dumpling spots in Montreal. The variety at this small address is impressive: pork and chives, chicken and mushrooms, lamb and cilantro, beef and onion, chive-egg-shrimp—to name just a few. Pan-fried or steamed, they’re always a pleasure, especially to share. Add their famous cucumber salad or spicy tofu, and you have a simple, satisfying meal—perfect for enjoying in the comfort of home.

Rôtisserie Panama

Panama Rôtisserie is a Montreal institution. This family-run Greek restaurant serves generous, comforting cuisine—perfect when you’re craving hearty, well-executed dishes. The house specialty? Grilled chicken, the dish that put the restaurant on the map. We also love it for its delicious Greek salad, fried zucchini, octopus, and grilled lamb chops. A lovely way to transport yourself straight to Greece for the evening.

India Beau Village Restaurant

India Beau Village is one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. Located in Parc-Extension, it’s a go-to for flavorful, well-executed North Indian cuisine at accessible prices. The menu highlights fresh, authentic dishes, with a particular soft spot for their house thalis—perfect for sampling multiple preparations in one order. The lamb and chicken versions are among the house specialties, and the vegetarian options are especially well done.
