If the name rings a bell, it’s because there has been a Venice MTL in Old Montreal for years. Those of you who already know Venice know what the name reminds you of: simple, healthy food and a colourful space! Owners Sophia and Charles are in love with California, its culture, and its food. With the desire to bring a piece of West Coast sunshine to Montreal, the concept of Venice MTL was born. Not the city of love, but the famous Venice Beach.
Venice MTL has no more to prove
The second Venice MTL opened in June 2017 on Beaver Hall hill. This branch was a huge success with the surrounding offices, but closed during the pandemic. After a brief stint on Notre Dame West in St. Henri, the restaurant is finally back on Beaver Hall in the space next door to its former address. With the gradual return to the office and the new HEC Montreal building, we have no doubt that Venice Beaver Hall 2.0 will once again be a great success!
Venice also has a third counter in DIX30, which opened in 2021.
A healthy and comforting menu
Venice was one of the first to make the famous poké bowl so popular in Montreal. The menu also includes lunch salads, burgers, tacos, sweet potato fries, guacamole and more items that are healthy, tasty and comforting. Venice has earned its place on several of our lists: Montreal’s best pokés, great gluten-free restaurants, and where to find Montreal’s best salads.
You’ll also find a variety of drinks, house juices, wines by the glass, beers, and revisited classic cocktails. Cocktail options include the melon mojito and the spicy margarita. Venice has everything to warm your heart!
The menu and the space here just feel good. Venice stands out with its colourful decor and sunny vibe. This is Venice Beach! Sophia tells us that a few dominant colours energize the new location of about 50 seats, and like the old location, this one includes a nice terrace and a space reserved for take-out orders.
Take a break and head to Venice MTL downtown for lunch. The menu and the atmosphere will certainly put a smile on your face!
