Located downtown, Gokudo welcomes guests into a unique and mysterious space. It’s also part of our list of the most beautiful hidden bars in Montreal! The Japanese-inspired cocktails on the menu are crafted with great care and respect for the art, using ingredients of excellent quality. BAR - Big in Japan

Also featured on our list of Montreal’s hidden bars, Big in Japan is a stunning establishment on Boulevard Saint-Laurent. In addition to its excellent selection of sakes, beers, and bourbons, the bar offers around fifteen delicious cocktails to enjoy in a cozy, intimate atmosphere—made all the more impressive by, among other things, the sheer number of candles throughout the space. For cocktails, Big in Japan is an absolute must!

Cloakroom Bar

Hidden behind the high-end tailor shop Maison Cloakroom is the bar of the same name, which welcomes guests into an elegant, dimly lit atmosphere. The house draws inspiration from the late 19th century when crafting its cocktails, but what truly sets it apart is its “made-to-measure” mixing concept. With limited seating, it’s the perfect spot for a date where conversation flows easily without too much noise.

Bar Henrietta

A beautiful neighborhood bar in the Mile-End, Henrietta is the ideal place for a drink with friends or a date. In addition to an excellent selection of sparkling wines and private-import bottles, the bar offers standout cocktails that can be paired with a variety of delicious small plates. We love it for its slightly retro décor, attentive staff, and lively atmosphere!

The team behind Foiegwa is also responsible for the Atwater Cocktail Club, another member of our list of Montreal’s hidden bars. Tucked away behind Foiegwa itself, this address reveals a colorful, intimate setting where the house serves up a wide and impressive selection of excellent cocktails.

Tiradito

Tiradito is a fantastic Peruvian resto-bar that charms just about everyone who visits. The concept is refreshingly original: all guests are seated around a single, large bar. Service staff and cooks work side by side around the seated diners, who get to enjoy the show as much as the food and drinks. Tiradito is beautiful, with a relaxed yet intimate atmosphere. You come here to sip excellent cocktails and enjoy a delicious bite.

Bar Le Mal Nécessaire

The first bar to open in Chinatown, Mal NĂ©cessaire is part of our list of Montreal’s hidden bars. Now located in the business district, on the ground floor of Google’s offices, it features a more minimalist and chic dĂ©cor—while keeping a menu that’s just as tropical as ever. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic date, a night out with friends, or a 5 Ă  7 with colleagues, all centered around some of the best drinks in the city.

Opened in November 2025, Bar Leonor has quickly established itself as a must-visit destination for exquisite cocktails in a truly unique setting. The cocktails are always impeccably executed, whether classic recipes or house creations.

Barranco MTL - Peruvian restaurant & cocktail bar

Barranco is a Peruvian restaurant on the Plateau Mont-Royal, well known for its signature cocktail menu. The focus is largely on pisco-based drinks—pisco being a spirit from Peru and Chile—alongside several cleverly reimagined classic cocktails. The restaurant also offers a wine list featuring private imports.

Numéro

NumĂ©ro is the bar on Saint-Laurent by the team behind Entre-Deux, one of our favorite spots in NDG before it closed. The bar charms with its dark, warm, almost aphrodisiac dĂ©cor. Alex—already known for his precise cocktails—unsurprisingly delivers a stellar menu. Each drink is perfectly balanced, thoughtfully crafted, and served with elegance. And the best part? You never have to wait for your drink here. Service is lightning-fast.

Le Rodman Bar Festif

Rodman Bar Festif brings Caribbean energy to the Mile End, led by Akim Acacia of PiklĂŹz. The cocktails are bold, well thought out, and inspired by island flavors (the djondjon martini and the mai tai kremas are exceptional!). The cocktail menu was developed by Maximilien Jean of Cloakroom, striking a perfect balance between creativity and coherence. You drink late, eat until 2 a.m., and party properly.

Rufus & Anna ⎜ Bar festif, cocktails & rîtisserie à Hochelaga

Rufus & Anna, formerly Bling Pig, comes from the same team (Junco, ÉlĂ©onore, SiĂšge Social) and brings Hochelaga a generous rotisserie and the warm vibe of a festive bar. The retro-modern dĂ©cor mixes light wood, caramel leather, and long banquettes—instantly inviting you to settle in, drink, and stay late. The cocktail menu, conceived as a tribute to the migratory journey of the Rufous and Anna’s hummingbirds, is as beautiful as it is delicious.
