Romies

In Old Montréal, the team behind Arthurs opened Romies, a beautiful spot with a refined decor where warm wood meets modern touches. The lunch menu is built with business lunches in mind and features reimagined classics like steak frites, pasta e fagioli, the club sandwich, shrimp Caesar salad and farfalle in rosé sauce. Every dish wins you over as much with its careful presentation as with its flavours, in a hushed, elegant setting that’s ideal for charming clients and colleagues.

Il Pagliaccio

Il Pagliaccio shows what quiet, hard work can achieve. In the kitchen and in the dining room, everything is done with great finesse, and guests discovering the place for the first time are struck by the stylish atmosphere of this small restaurant. They’re so impressed that they keep coming back, never tiring of the experience. Il Pagliaccio also appears on our list of the best Italian restaurants in Montréal.

Helena

Elegantly set in Old Montréal, Helena has everything you need to impress your guests: decor, cuisine and service. First and foremost, there’s chef Helena Loureiro, a superb cook (Portuguese, but not only) whose dishes are so flavourful they can transport you to Lisbon, Braga or Porto. The restaurant also offers an impressive list of Portuguese private-import wines and appears on our list of the best Portuguese restaurants in Montréal.

BOUILLON BILK

Bouillon Bilk is an exceptional restaurant with a strikingly minimalist decor and Scandinavian accents. It serves Québec cuisine that strays off the beaten path. At lunch, there’s a four-course table d’hôte at a very reasonable price, and everything is so good that your guests are sure to be impressed. Bouillon Bilk also stands out for the quality and professionalism of its service, as well as its superb wine selection. We’d be remiss not to mention the key players behind the restaurant’s success: Mélanie Blanchette (formerly of Leméac, now co-owner of Bouillon Bilk, Cadet and Place Carmin) and François Nadon (formerly of Brontë and Globe, now co-owner of Bouillon Bilk). Pastry chef Léa Godin-Beauchemin also deserves a mention: her desserts are truly exceptional.

Le St-Urbain

On Fleury Ouest since 2009, Le St-Urbain is, in our view, one of Montréal’s rare gems for delicious seasonal dishes and good wine to go with them. A meal here is always a remarkable culinary experience.

Renoir Restaurant

Renoir, the restaurant at the Sofitel hotel, is one of the best French restaurants in Montréal. Its chef, Olivier Perret, isn’t afraid to draw on local products, and pastry chef Paul Peyrat creates desserts that tempt you even after hearty savoury dishes. Here you’ll find the intimacy you’re looking for, elegant white tablecloths and highly efficient staff, all of which are sure to impress your guests. They’re not the only ones to be impressed: Air France was too, and now serves new dishes created by the chef on flights leaving all its Canadian airports: Montréal, Québec City, Toronto, Vancouver and Ottawa.

We love Monarque in Old Montréal for its distinguished decor and the upscale experience it offers. Its magnificent, elegant decor, worthy of the finest restaurants, makes it the perfect setting for important business meals. Ideally located in Old Montréal, Monarque is a must for professionals working in the neighbourhood. Lunch is served as a table d’hôte, as you’d expect from a classic French restaurant. Special mention goes to Richard Bastien for the enormous work he put into preparing this ambitious project. He is a living legend of our restaurant scene, a model of elegance, and also the father of Monarque’s chef.

Place Carmin

This relatively new Old Montréal spot is the work of Mélanie Blanchette and her team (the people behind Cadet and Bouillon Bilk). The magnificent space, designed by Clairoux, is bright and airy, and sure to wow your guests over a business lunch. In the kitchen, the excellent chef François Nadon has adapted the high-end style he brought to Bouillon Bilk to a more brasserie-style menu at this new address. Setting, cuisine and service are sure to impress.

Leméac

The institution that is Leméac is an upscale French brasserie, one of the best, and it has passed the 20-year mark. Restaurant h3

The upscale h3 was among the restaurants whose owners bravely opened their doors at the height of the pandemic. There are plenty of good reasons to go, starting with the food. Chef Jean-Sébastien Giguère handles his pans with a master’s touch, and he and his brigade turn out delicious dishes. At lunch, the restaurant offers a beautiful, refined table d’hôte, and of course, the space itself is truly impressive.

At lunch, the restaurant offers a fairly affordable menu that’s sure to impress.

Park opened in Westmount in 2011. Since then, chef-owner Antonio Park’s restaurant has become one of the city’s must-visit spots for excellent Japanese cuisine with Korean and South American influences. You can also come for lunch and enjoy the restaurant’s fabulous creations at a lower price.

Motto Handroll Bar

Motto, a Japanese restaurant on Saint-François-Xavier Street in the heart of Old Montréal, pays tribute to the delicate art of temaki: sheets of nori filled with rice and fish, rolled by hand and served on the spot, right before your eyes. The menu includes a few sashimi, but the house specialty is the hand rolls, served one at a time by the chef. Motto was designed in the spirit of Japanese sushi bars, where you eat quickly without ever compromising on quality.
