Right next to Pâtisserie Mélilot, the team is opening a new spot that’s sure to charm both kids and adults alike: Atelier Mélilot, a delightful family creamery. It is set to become a true gathering place for families looking to enjoy a sweet moment year-round, as well as for food lovers in search of honest, authentic flavors.
The decision to open this space came from a practical need: “We were running out of space in the old location—both in the kitchen and for storage,” explains Clémence, one of the owners. But rather than let the space go unused, the team saw a great opportunity to offer something aligned with the spirit of Pâtisserie Mélilot. Aurélien, the pastry chef, who worked at Archicrème during the pandemic, came up with the idea of crafting homemade ice creams, in the same spirit as the boutique’s pastries. Right now, you can even try an ice cream inspired by their famous kouign-amann.
Atelier Mélilot offers soft serve with a simple yet exquisite taste, with weekly rotating flavors that complement the signature sweetgrass (mélilot), following the rhythm of the seasons. At the moment, there’s a delicious twist of sweetgrass and dark chocolate. In addition to ice cream, Atelier Mélilot will also serve frozen desserts like Yule logs for the holidays.
What makes Atelier Mélilot even more special is its family-friendly atmosphere. The space was designed to be a true playground for children, with vibrant colors and books lining a beautifully curated section just for them. It’s the result of the team’s ideas brought to life in collaboration with designer Sarah Pelletier. “Vincent and I are parents to a little girl, and this is exactly what we were looking for: a place where families can feel at home,” says Clémence. “It’s truly a space to savor a joyful moment in a playful setting that fits perfectly into the neighborhood vibe.”
Though Atelier Mélilot embraces simplicity, it’s a place where quality ingredients speak for themselves. “Everything we do is made with simple, but high-quality products.” A must-visit spot that’s sure to delight every generation!
