The Lucky Belly Group (Red Tiger, Blossom, Tiramisu, Terrasse Carla) opened Chomchom two years ago in Central and has since enjoyed great success among fans of modern Vietnamese cuisine. To our delight, you can now savor the delights of Chomchom in Griffintown.
Chomchom has set up shop on Ottawa Street, in a neighborhood that needed a fresh and vibrant new address. Here, you can enjoy Vietnamese sandwiches, bowls, and drinks made with matcha, along with their cà phê (coffee) — as they call it. Among the menu favorites, their famous bánh mì with pork, filled with pâté, Vietnamese sausage, and barbecue lacquered pork, is a must-try. For shrimp lovers, the shrimp sandwich and bowl, marinated in lime kefir and served with a satay sauce made from confit onion mayonnaise, are sure to win you over.
Chomchom is not your traditional Vietnamese eatery; it brings a fresh twist to the classics we love. Guillaume Ménard designed the decor to reflect the spirit of the Lucky Belly Group: young, colorful, and eclectic, while maintaining a clean and welcoming style. The restaurant prioritizes takeout orders, but it’s also possible to settle in on the bright green stools outside, which are surprisingly more comfortable than they look!
We return to Chomchom for its flavorful bowls and sandwiches, its delicious whipped matcha on coconut water, its fried spring rolls made by one of the owners’ parents (so cute!), and also for the attentive and friendly welcome from the team. Everything is homemade with love, making it a lovely and very affordable option in Griffintown. Definitely a place to try and adopt. Enjoy your discovery!
