The superb Foxy restaurant, intimate and delectable, is a staple in Montreal, as well as one of the best restaurants in Griffintown.

In 2015, Éric Girard and Dyan Solomon, the duo behind the beloved Olive et Gourmando, in Old Montreal, opened Foxy, and it was an instant success.

In May 2024, Véronique Dalle and Bruno Lesieur became the new owners of Foxy and announced the arrival of Brian Thibodeau as the restaurant’s new head chef. This marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the renowned establishment, celebrated for its warm ambiance and fire-inspired cuisine.

Véronique Dalle, a restaurateur and sommelier with over 25 years of experience in the restaurant industry, is well known in the field (Pullman, Moleskine) and also teaches at I.T.H.Q. Bruno Lesieur has made his mark at Pullman and Ferme Théorêt et filles, a family-run farm in Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent, Bécancour County, producing over forty varieties of vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Brian Thibodeau, formerly the head chef at several renowned establishments (Park, Blue Water Café in Vancouver), brings with him boundless creativity. His culinary vision, focused on using local ingredients and traditional cooking techniques, aligns perfectly with Foxy’s philosophy.

“We are honored to take the reins of Foxy, a restaurant that has won over Montrealers with its wood-fired dishes and welcoming atmosphere,” said Véronique Dalle. “Our goal is to preserve the soul of Foxy while adding our personal touch and introducing innovations that will surprise and delight our guests.”

Bruno Lesieur added: “Foxy’s cuisine has always been synonymous with warmth and conviviality. We will continue to explore and highlight these elements while introducing new techniques and flavors that reflect our shared passion for gastronomy. With Brian Thibodeau by our side, we are confident that we can reach new heights.”

Foxy has always been beloved for its countryside-inspired cuisine: an array of superb ingredients, each treated with respect for its nature. We love the delicate and flavorful small plates and were particularly taken with the appetizers. The wood-fired cooking, a signature of the house from the very beginning, remains one of our favorite aspects.

Véronique, Bruno, and the chef stated: “We plan to introduce a new seasonal menu showcasing local and sustainable ingredients, as well as special events such as tasting nights and collaborations with other renowned chefs.”

Familiar faces remain part of the team: Geneviève Claveau as maître d’hôtel, Sabrina Touzel as head bartender, and Marc-André Fortin as assistant sommelier.

It goes without saying that the decor at Foxy adds to the experience of the place. The decor is intimate, comfortable and original. Entirely homemade, custom; the place is warm and elegant. The space was designed by Éric and Dyan and executed by Éric Filteau and his team at MO Design Workshop and Architecture; a partnership that resulted in one of the most beautiful restaurants in Montreal.

Be sure to book online to secure your reservation; for groups of five or more, it is recommended to make your request via email at [email protected] or by phone at 514-925-7007. Consider visiting on a weeknight for a more relaxed atmosphere—here, a full house always means high energy.

The new Foxy remains a place to indulge in comforting cuisine, treat yourself, celebrate a special occasion, and enjoy excellent food and drink. A must-try address!
