Bbagels: A New Take on Bagels in Pointe-Saint-Charles

Opened on July 13th, Bbagels is already winning over the residents of Pointe-Saint-Charles with its delicious homemade bagels and infectious energy. From the early morning, you’ll be greeted with lively music by a dynamic and welcoming team.

Founder Alon Biron, a lifelong cooking enthusiast, initially started making bagels for his friends. Word quickly spread, and soon friends of friends began buying his creations. One day, a friend from New York suggested he open a shop. The goal? To surprise and delight, one bagel at a time. “The best moment is when people walk in skeptical, taste a bagel, and go, ‘Oh, fuck!’” Biron says with a laugh.

Bagels That Will Make You Stutter

Why the name Bbagels? “Because these bagels are so good, they’ll make you stutter!” Biron explains. Each bagel is served hot, with a crispy crust and a soft, chewy interior. They’re twice the size of traditional bagels, completely vegan, and sugar-free, making them light and utterly irresistible. Even better, they stay tender the next day. You’ll find classic flavors alongside a zaatar bagel that’s both delicious and daring. The bagels are sold in sets of 3, 6, or 12 because, for them, “food is meant to be shared.” Here, bagels aren’t sliced; the idea is to tear and dip them. They’re paired with schmears, delicious homemade dips. The pickle and dill schmear is exceptional, but our favorite is the green onion and lemon. Every weekend, a new sweet schmear flavor is featured, like Nutella and bacon or honey, peach, mint, and lemon.

When searching for a place to open Bbagels, Biron wanted a neighborhood that embraced new ideas while staying true to its roots. Pointe-Saint-Charles was the perfect choice. “Here, people talk to each other, they’re open to new ideas, but they never forget to be kind and welcoming to one another,” he explains. The locals were thrilled to see a new spot open its doors. Attention to detail is evident, from the retro gumball machine for kids to the little treats for dogs.

Wishing you continued success!
