Bbagels: A New Kind of Bagel in Pointe-Saint-Charles

Open since July 13, Bbagels is already charming the residents of Pointe-Saint-Charles with its delicious homemade bagels and contagious energy. From the morning, you’ll be welcomed, with the music blaring, by a dynamic and warm team.

The founder, Alon Biron, has always been passionate about cooking and initially started making bagels for his friends. Word of mouth quickly took off: friends of friends began purchasing his creations. One day, a friend from New York suggested he open a shop. The goal? To surprise and delight, one bagel at a time. “The best moment is when people arrive skeptical, taste a bagel, and say, ‘Oh, fuck!’” he laughs.

Bagels That Will Make You Stutter

Why the name Bbagels? “Because these bagels are so good they’ll make you stutter!” explains Biron. But beware: this is not about the iconic St-Viateur or Fairmount bagels. Each bagel is served warm, with a crunchy crust and a soft interior. They are double the size of traditional bagels, completely vegan, and sugar-free, making them light and absolutely irresistible. Even better, they remain tender the next day. Classic flavors are available (plain, sesame, poppy, salt, or everything), along with a zaatar bagel that is both delicious and bold. Bagels are sold in packs of 3, 6, or 12 because for them, “food is meant to be shared.” Here, they are not sliced; the idea is to tear them apart and dip them. They come with “schmears,” flavorful homemade spreads. The dill and pickle schmear is exceptional, but our favorite remains the green onion and lemon one. Every weekend, a new sweet schmear flavor is offered, such as Nutella and bacon, or honey, peach, mint, and lemon.

When he was looking for a place to open Bbagels, Biron wanted a neighborhood that welcomed new ideas without losing sight of tradition. Pointe-Saint-Charles was the perfect choice. “Here, people talk to each other, are open to new ideas, but never forget to be kind and open to one another,” he explains. The locals were thrilled to see a new spot open its doors. Attention is truly paid to small details, like the retro gumball machine for kids and little treats for dogs.

We wish you great success in the future!
