Nonnina is a charming Italian café in Lachine that delights visitors with delicious sandwiches, pastries, and viennoiseries. Since its opening, this spot has been bustling and attracts food lovers from the neighborhood.

In the Lachine borough, Massimo brought Nonnina to life—a warm and comforting spot that serves as both a tribute to his grandmother and a reflection of his family’s passion. It all began in 2018, when Massimo launched a food truck selling gelato. Soon after, the idea of opening a café took root, and with his family’s support, Massimo evolved Nonnina into a neighborhood staple. Since its opening in 2020 in Lachine, despite the challenges of the pandemic, the small café quickly gained momentum. It soon became a must-stop for cyclists and local food lovers, drawn by delicious gelatos, fresh pastries, and tasty paninis—all served in a cozy, friendly atmosphere. With the move in 2023 to the former Grand Marché of Lachine, Massimo had the opportunity to expand Nonnina into a much larger space. The decor evokes the charm of small Italian trattorias, with brick walls, elegant arches, and Mediterranean-inspired blue accents.

Nonnina’s menu offers a varied and enticing selection: viennoiseries, pastries, pizzas, homemade Italian paninis, and customizable sandwiches to suit everyone’s taste. There’s also a small grocery section stocked with carefully selected products: various types of pasta, tomato sauce, olive oil, vinegar, and even prepared dishes like the popular arancini and lasagnas—perfect for taking a taste of Nonnina home.

With the upcoming expansion in the months ahead, Nonnina continues to reinvent itself while staying true to its roots. Each visit to Nonnina becomes an invitation to savor la dolce vita in the heart of Lachine.

Enjoy the discovery!
