Opened in the fall of 2023 in Mile-Ex, Pan American Pizza positions itself as a neighborhood restaurant halfway between pizzeria and snack bar. The promise? Quick and tasty eats without ever compromising on quality. The project is led by Danny St Pierre, a familiar face in Montréal’s restaurant scene who has steered many ventures, big and small, always with new ideas on the horizon. This time, he’s joined by partners Éric Lefrançois (founder of West Shefford microbrewery in Bromont) and Martin Rouleau (Yïsst). And if you think you’ve already tried Pan American’s pizzas, you might be right—Danny is everywhere: on TV, on the radio, and at Montréal’s biggest festivals.

Pizza, Salads, and Reinvented Snack Bar Classics

The menu features about ten individual 6-inch pizzas with thick, cheesy crusts, a nod to Detroit-style pies, alongside sides like the must-try Cacio e Pepe croquettes, the “Clown Fry” (think Big Mac without the bun), and the “Belle César,” a generous mix of romaine and baby kale topped with bacon crumble and parmesan—a salad that even made our list of Montréal’s best Caesars.

Pizza highlights include the Pep su’l top, piled high with pepperoni, and the Champignons magiques, made with herbed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and Alfred le Fermier cheese. Halal and plant-based options are also available.
“It was really important to me to offer that. We have a community that just wants to be considered, and I think it’s great to be able to do that!” — Danny St Pierre.

For dessert, the Nanaimo bar has become a house staple—the perfect sweet treat to share.

A New Direction

The Jeanne-Mance location (6631) keeps things casual and unpretentious, with a straightforward, well-executed menu. Staying true to that philosophy, Pan has shifted to a service style focused on hospitality and support rather than the traditional approach. The change has allowed them to lower prices and fine-tune the offering, creating a more accessible experience in today’s tricky economy. The result: a generous, down-to-earth spot where pizza and sides shine in their simple perfection.

Wineshop Feel, Local Brews, and Thoughtful Zero-Proof Options

Pan American Pizza has adopted a wineshop model, with a reduced margin of just 0.75% on bottles. Guests can enjoy a glass for around $9 or take home a bottle at a friendly price. The carefully curated selection includes a dozen private imports. On the beer list, you’ll find favorites from West Shefford, Messorem, and Wills, plus a smart non-alcoholic menu featuring Montréal’s Le Seltzer, with whom Danny has chosen to collaborate.

McGill: A Second Home

In early September 2025, Pan American Pizza expanded to a second location inside the former Subway in McGill’s McCall MacBain Arts Building. The space caters to students during the week as well as nearby workers looking for a quick bite.

The original Mile-Ex address, with seating for about thirty and a small summer terrace, remains true to its formula: open evenings only, with its welcoming, straightforward décor.

We love Pan for its tasty, affordable fare—whether dine-in, take-out, or delivery. Simple, generous, and accessible pizza, with plenty of reasons to return again and again. And knowing Danny St Pierre, we’d bet he’s already cooking up his next move.
