The first Folfol on Van Horne already has a loyal crowd of devoted fans. With its refined Syrian cuisine and very generous portions, it quickly won hearts. This second Folfol, now set up in the north of the city, satisfies both curious and hungry appetites. Opened in August 2025, it carries the same meticulous attention to every plate on the menu.

Folfol is all about generosity—and quality too. The house presents itself as offering “Syrian street food,” and that’s exactly what it is: dishes deeply rooted in the family traditions of a Syria where the street would offer up both savory and sweet delights.

Beyond its cheerful name, Folfol is also inspired by an essential spice—black pepper—used with subtlety in Syrian gastronomy and, of course, in Folfol’s kitchen.

New horizons

Why here? we asked on site. “We wanted to cover the whole island of Montréal, not just Outremont. This neighborhood is booming, with lots of offices and condos, plus the proximity to Marché Central makes it a very attractive neighbor.”

The plates at Folfol, in addition to being high-quality, are also extremely generous. “In Syria, we want our guests to leave full, satisfied by everything we serve. That’s what we aim for at Folfol.” Mission accomplished—because here, every dish is hearty enough to satisfy, yet you’ll likely leave with half your meal to take home or to the office for another equally abundant feast the next day.

Beautiful plates

To better tell you about it, we tasted a few dishes and left completely delighted:

  • A Classic Fattoush Salad with purslane, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions, radishes, watermelon, pomegranate, grilled pita, and pomegranate vinaigrette.

  • Lamb Shawarma served on saffron basmati rice studded with golden raisins. Accompanied by a fresh biwaz salad (tomatoes, onions, parsley), crunchy kale, and tahini sauce.

  • Fresh Atlantic Salmon, marinated and delicately prepared, with saffron basmati rice, a bright biwaz salad, crunchy kale, and tahini sauce.

  • A Grilled Halloumi Sandwich with tomatoes, cucumbers, roasted olives, mint, radishes, parsley, and garlicky mayo.

On the counter, where you place your order, tempting mezze await—hummus, muhammara, and more. Don’t miss what Folfol calls its “Potato Wedges”—thick, house-made fries that are absolutely spectacular.

An elegant décor

The beautiful design at Folfol is the work of Madame Maysan (ateliermim.com). Elegant, detailed, and welcoming, it adds to the pleasure of dining here.

Also worth noting: the warm welcome and efficient service.

Enjoy your discovery—and bon appétit on the day of your visit, as well as the next day with everything your lunchtime appetite let you take home.
