Montreal’s Top Tea Rooms

Today, we invite you to warm up with a cup of tea—whether it’s delicately infused Japanese tea, fragrant Moroccan mint tea, strong Turkish tea, or an English-inspired experience complete with scones and sweet treats. Montreal, a curious and food-loving city, is filled with tea rooms where rituals from around the world meet, each offering a unique way to pause and savour the moment.

Montrealers are also increasingly drawn to these traditions from elsewhere. More than just a hot drink, tea here becomes a cultural experience, a moment of connection, and sometimes even a special way to mark an occasion. Depending on customs, tea is paired with sweets, cookies, cakes, delicate sandwiches, or traditional pastries—each revealing a different way of celebrating the art of tea.

With the arrival of colder weather, whether you’re looking for a cozy place to spend an afternoon playing Scrabble or a warm, inviting salon to celebrate an occasion with loved ones, we’ve prepared a selection of addresses where you can discover the finest tea rituals in Montreal.

Le Parloir

One of the most charming places to enjoy tea. Owner Sylvie Marchand dreamed of opening a tea room, and in 2010, she made that dream a reality with Le Parloir. The space is welcoming and comforting—you feel like you’re at a friend’s place. It’s the perfect tea spot on the Plateau. Everything has its place: a few flowers, touches of modern décor, and elements referencing the 17th century—together creating an absolutely charming space. Le Parloir is an unpretentious tea room serving scones, sandwiches, muffins, salads, small cakes, and other homemade bites. Warm, simple, and full of heart.
