After 10 years in Ahuntsic, Le Millen is entering a new chapter in Rosemont, where it settled in March 2026. Considered one of the best bring-your-own-wine restaurants in Montreal, the establishment retains what has always defined it: refined, personality-driven cuisine in a setting that feels both relaxed and polished.

At Le Millen, the experience takes the form of a 5- or 8-course tasting menu—one of the most affordable in its category. The format offers welcome flexibility in the choice of starters and main courses, while generous portions ensure no one leaves hungry. The restaurant also offers an à la carte menu, an option designed to make the experience even more accessible at a time when dining out is increasingly a considered decision.

A cuisine rooted in sensitivity and skill
In the kitchen, chef-owner Jérémie Gélinas Roy presents a menu that evolves with the seasons and local products, with a particular focus on fish and seafood, without neglecting strong meat options. With a background shaped by an arts-oriented academic environment, the chef brings a distinctive creative sensibility to his plates. His cuisine is grounded in French techniques, infused with English influences, and draws on a rich career that includes time at L’Épicier and L’Auberge Saint-Gabriel, as well as at renowned restaurants in Australia and New Zealand, including Amisfield, recognized by The World’s 50 Best. The result is precise, thoughtful cooking that remains deeply rooted in pleasure.

Among the highlights during our visit, the foie gras osmose—with its heart mousse, almond-smoked pork belly, and pressed apples—stood out for its balance of richness and finesse. The beef cheek, served with kewpie, parsley crumble, butternut squash cream with brown butter, and red wine jus, was equally memorable. Two dishes that reflect a cuisine that is both mastered and comforting. The chef has also chosen to maintain certain partnerships developed over the years in Ahuntsic, including Chocolaterie Bonneau and Crèmerie Virevent, both featured in the dessert offerings.

The small team has been working together for several years, and it shows. Led by co-owner and maître d’hôtel Adeline Douay, the service is warm yet professional, driven by an evident camaraderie among the staff. You feel well taken care of from start to finish.

As for the décor, it is understated yet tasteful—a discreet setting that lets the food take center stage.

Remaining true to its bring-your-own-wine formula, Le Millen preserves what built its reputation and continues to offer a cohesive experience that is both elegant and convivial. A wonderful neighborhood spot that fits naturally into Rosemont and confirms its place among Montreal’s best BYOW restaurants.
