Opened in spring 2022 on the rooftop of the Hampton Inn by Hilton in Chinatown, Terrasse Carla is a chic terrace well known for its popular happy hours and its stunning views of downtown and Old Montréal. In addition, this address is also featured in our guide to Montreal’s most beautiful terraces!

We owe this beautiful terrace to Luckybellygroup — the team behind Tiramisu, Red Tiger, and Blossom, to name just a few of their projects.

Located at the corner of Viger and Saint-Laurent, Terrasse Carla overlooks Montréal’s Chinatown and the entrance to the Old Port. In short, you can truly feel and hear the pulse of the city from here.

The design of the more than 7,000-square-foot space, which seats around 250 guests, was created by Camdi Design in collaboration with the restaurateur group. Part of the terrace is covered — including the bar — allowing it to welcome guests regardless of the weather. The atmosphere is festive and elegant, but it quickly becomes electrifying as the evening goes on and the music gets louder.

Vietnamese flavours and French know-how

Chef Chanthy Yen (Tiramisu) offers a menu that blends the flavours of Vietnam with the know-how of French cuisine: mussels and fries with coconut milk, a burger with Maggi sauce, a banh mi with Matane shrimp, poutine with pho gravy, oysters, seafood towers, and more.

Behind the bar, the same philosophy applies: cocktails incorporate Asian-inspired ingredients such as butterfly pea flower tea, ginger, and kefir.

During the day, Terrasse Carla is the perfect place to soak up the sun and enjoy a bite with a drink in hand. In the evening, the terrace fills with young crowds and people line up to dance under the stars.

Note: Terrasse Carla is closed during the cold season and will return in the spring.
