Maps Pizza, in the heart of Villeray, serves up some of the best pizza in Montreal in a small, unpretentious space with simple decor.
Percy Carrière and David Reily are the brains behind Maps, their very first restaurant. Percy honed his cooking and baking skills at home before launching this project, while David, with a decade of experience in architecture, brought his creative vision to the restaurant’s design.
The duo wanted a short name—and settled on “Maps” as a nod to the song by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Set in a freshly renovated space inspired by Copenhagen’s minimalist aesthetic, the decor at Maps Pizza is elegant yet functional. Designed by David, the restaurant features large, custom-made wooden tables and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, despite the minimalist feel.
The restaurant is built around the idea of sharing: a variety of delicious pizzas meant to bring people together in a laid-back, communal setting. And the pizza? Excellent. The margherita (cheesy and delicious!), pepperoni (a standout favourite), sausage, marinara, and bianca (another top pick!) are all offered in 16″ format for $20–$30. With five pizzas on the menu and a new one introduced each month, there’s something for everyone. The recipes are the result of both owners’ experimentation and refinement, and it shows in the high-quality crust and toppings.
Also on the menu: two salads—a Caesar (one of the best in town!) and a green salad—as well as outstanding house-made sourdough bread. To drink, you’ll find sodas, with wine and beer options coming soon.
For Percy and David, the real reward is seeing happy customers. They love the laid-back, family-friendly vibe of the restaurant and the chance to share their passion for pizza with their local community.
Maps is sure to become a go-to spot for pizza lovers in the neighbourhood—and beyond.
