On Rue Principale in Saint-Sauveur, Le Solstice stands out as a gourmet stop that is both accessible and delicious, where everyone—from cyclists to families out for a stroll, and even local regulars—finds something to enjoy, including excellent burgers!
Behind this project is Missy Tremblay, a trained sommelier who honed her skills in Michelin-starred restaurants in the south of France before returning to Quebec with a clear vision in mind. “Working in fine dining was very rewarding, but I wanted to return to something simpler, closer to the people, while maintaining a certain level of quality, especially when it came to wine selection,” she explains. With this vision, Le Solstice was born—first in Morin-Heights, then quickly relocated to Saint-Sauveur in a larger, brighter, and more welcoming space, reflecting exactly what she wanted to create.
A Simple, Well-Crafted Menu
At Le Solstice, there’s no unnecessary fuss—just a strong focus on quality ingredients. The restaurant has made a name for itself with its classic double smash burger, made from fresh Canadian Angus beef, never frozen. “If I’m going to make burgers, I want them to be really good. Freshness and sourcing are essential to me,” Missy says. The restaurant also serves freshly pressed lemonades, perfectly refreshing and made on-site with a vintage machine that never fails to intrigue curious visitors.
A Well-Thought-Out, Accessible Wine List
True to her sommelier background, Missy places great emphasis on Le Solstice’s wine selection. “I spend a lot of time looking for bottles that aren’t found everywhere. I wanted a wine list where everyone could find something they love—whether it’s an easy-drinking wine or a special bottle to gift,” she shares. The result: a diverse, affordable, and always interesting selection.
Though the word “casse-croûte” often brings to mind a simple roadside snack bar, Le Solstice defies expectations. The name itself—chosen after an extensive brainstorming session—evokes the rhythm of the seasons and a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes guests want to return.
“I’m proud of what we’ve built here, especially the way we’ve been welcomed. People are really happy to have us in Saint-Sauveur. And my team… the service is top-notch.”
Le Solstice is the kind of place you stumble upon by chance—and never want to leave.
