An Inspiring Journey

Located in Bois-des-Filion, La station organique offers healthy, plant-based, and gluten-free cuisine — with no compromise on flavor.

A graduate of the École hôtelière de Laval, Mélanie Ménard built a career in several of Montreal’s top establishments: Toqué!, Cabane à Sucre Pied de Cochon, Hôtel W, Globe, Buonanotte. For nearly twenty years, she lived the fast-paced rhythm of the restaurant world, until her body and mind sent out a clear warning. Battling alcohol addiction, chronic anxiety, and health issues, she began a deep personal transformation. That’s when she discovered raw, plant-based, and living foods — a revelation that led her to dive deeper into the subject through Crudessence, books, and training, including the plant-based nutrition program at Cornell University.

In 2013, she started pressing her first juices at home, while juggling family life, a waitressing job at Cabane à Sucre Pied de Cochon, and developing her project. With determination and the support of her partner, she launched La station organique on April 19, 2018, in a small space in Bois-des-Filion. Cold-pressed juices, buddha bowls, tartines, smoothies, and gluten-free snacks: the spot quickly found its audience. Since day one, Mélanie has offered a plant-based, always gluten-free menu that evolves with the seasons — a project born from a quest for well-being and deep love for her family.

A Colorful Menu

The morning menu highlights nourishing treats like a peanut butter muffin, a homemade breakfast cookie, or a double chocolate biscuit. Chia or avocado puddings — made with cashew cream, vanilla, sea salt, and seasonal fruit — round out the offerings, as does the tartine, a classic that never goes out of style.

For snacks, you’ll find the soup of the day, a vegetarian sandwich, and a tempeh anticucho wrap. But our favorite is the avocado toast, topped with watermelon radish, lemon, and hot sauce — simple, well-executed, and always satisfying.

Smoothie bowls are another house specialty: colorful, nourishing, and beautifully presented. Whether açaí, pitaya, or PB & Co (made with raw cacao and peanut butter), each bowl is crafted with ripe fruit, almond milk, and sunflower seeds, then topped with gluten-free granola, berries, and superfoods like Blue Majik spirulina, cacao nibs, or hemp. The Botanique bowl, on the other hand, highlights greens like kale and spinach — a wholesome break that delights with its freshness and texture.

At lunch, the buddha bowls stand out for their freshness, balance, and rich textures. The Maya pairs crunchy broccoli, smoked tempeh, and sweet corn, all enhanced by a lime-coriander-cumin dressing. The Fattoush bursts with flavor, featuring pomegranate, fresh herbs, and za’atar pita chips. The Macrobiotic combines ancestral black rice, kimchi, and marinated tempeh, tied together with a miso-ginger sauce. Finally, the Thai bowl brings together mango, mint, organic tofu, and peanuts in a creamy almond butter dressing. Generous, flavorful bowls where every bite has its own personality.

On the drink side, there’s a dozen smoothies to suit all tastes. Cold-pressed juices are designed as daily allies — to energize, soothe, revitalize, or rebalance. Each blend targets a specific effect, whether for digestion, energy, immunity, or skin glow. You can also opt for a wellness cleanse by choosing a six-juice pack with complementary properties, to be consumed over one day or spread out across the week.

And for matcha lovers, the house prepares excellent drinks made with the Japanese powder. Special mention goes to the iced mango matcha latte — fresh, fruity, and energizing.

La station organique offers cuisine with intention: 100% plant-based, gluten-free, free of processed ingredients, focused on vitality, balance, and wellness. Nourish the body, calm the mind — one bowl, one juice, one bite at a time. Enjoy the discovery!
