There are places where food and atmosphere come together perfectly to create a memorable experience — and Taza Flores, recently taken over by a new team, is undoubtedly one of them. The restaurant has embraced a fresh identity while preserving the essence that made it such a beloved spot.
A Strong Team
Executive chef and project creator Noa Saint-Juste, originally from Haiti, honed her craft in Michelin-starred kitchens across France. After working at renowned Montreal restaurants like Cadet and Bouillon Bilk, she launched Taza Flores as a platform for her passion: showcasing high-quality, local Quebec ingredients in refined, creative dishes rooted in precision and expertise.
Working alongside her is Eleazar Morad, co-owner and head sommelier of Colombian origin, who expertly manages the front of house. Coming from a family where gastronomy was sacred, Eleazar trained in some of the finest wine schools and has experience in Michelin-starred establishments across Spain and Colombia. His approach to wine and hospitality is both refined and accessible — his carefully curated wine list includes small-batch artisanal labels alongside timeless classics, ensuring everyone can enjoy a good glass without breaking the bank.
The team is rounded out by sous-chef Mohammad Khan Sherpao and head chef Bree Hastings, both essential to the restaurant’s evolving identity.
A Fresh Start
While the name “Taza Flores” remains, the restaurant now embraces a spirit of sharing and generosity — without sticking to the traditional tapas playbook. The shareable dishes highlight carefully sourced Quebec products, prepared with creativity and thoughtfulness.
Don’t miss the delicate, vibrant hamachi crudo or the classic beef tartare — a house staple that never leaves the menu. Other favorites include the sunchoke-stuffed agnolotti, and the perfectly cooked hanger steak served with chickpeas in the form of hummus — a subtle nod to Northern Italian cuisine.
The menu evolves with the seasons and is built around the gems of Quebec’s local terroir.
Where the Art of Hospitality Shines
The space has also seen a few thoughtful updates. The ambiance is both elegant and relaxed, featuring marble tables, chic lighting, and carefully chosen chairs that bring a modern touch while maintaining the warm, intimate charm of the space — complete with its signature brick wall. A central island allows guests to enjoy a drink while they wait, staying true to the restaurant’s spirit of connection and sharing.
What truly sets Taza Flores apart is the service. Eleazar is a rare gem, ensuring every meal feels like a special occasion. The flawless hospitality, paired with excellent food, creates an atmosphere that feels like home. As the warmer months approach, Taza Flores’ terrace will be the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family — ideally with a glass of wine selected by Eleazar himself.
Stop by and say hello from us — cheers!
