Opened in 2019, Bo’Dégât is a must-visit destination for lovers of Spanish cuisine… and great food in general. Nestled on Beaubien Street, this inviting restaurant serves up rich and flavorful tapas that transport diners straight to Barcelona.

At the heart of the project is Carme Márquez, who infuses every dish with her expertise and passion for Spanish gastronomy. Originally from Barcelona, the chef trained alongside some of the biggest names in European cuisine, including Carles Abellán and Nandu Jubany, before settling in Montreal for love. Her menu highlights a refined take on Barcelona’s culinary traditions, where every bite is an invitation to travel.

From the moment you sit down, the olives on the table set the tone: here, the aperitif is sacred. And what would a Spanish dining experience be without a proper gin and tonic, prepared just like in Barcelona? It’s the perfect way to start the feast. Among the menu’s must-try dishes, the pan con tomate, generously rubbed with garlic and tomatoes, and the jamón ibérico evoke the flavors of Catalonia’s vibrant tapas bars. And for a perfect starter, don’t miss the gildas—skewers of olives, anchovies, and piparra peppers. The ajo blanco, a silky almond-based gazpacho topped with Santoña anchovies, is another delightful discovery. “Make sure to scoop up every drop with some bread,” Carme cheerfully advises.

The menu features daily specials that reflect Carme’s inspirations. If you happen to see the braised beef cheek cannelloni, don’t hesitate—paired with a glass of Rioja, as recommended by the house, it’s a definite standout. One bite, and it’s clear why regulars keep coming back.

“I’m proud to have created a place where, the moment you walk through the door, you’re in Barcelona. That was my dream, and I think we made it happen,” says Carme.

The wine list, curated by Carme, who has an impressive background in wine, features an excellent selection. You’ll find both funky natural wines and refined classics to suit every palate. In the summer, a cozy 12-seat terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy a warm Montreal evening.

With its relaxed ambiance, generous cuisine, thoughtful wine selection, and attentive service, Bo’Dégât is a must-visit spot—one that rightfully earns its place among Montreal’s top Spanish restaurants.

Enjoy the discovery!
