Granby is well known for its culinary delights and its warm hospitality. Recently, we had the privilege of exploring this charming town, and what a delicious adventure it was! From picturesque cafés to high-end restaurants, Granby welcomed us with open arms, offering a diverse culinary landscape that left us in awe. As we wandered the town’s streets, we couldn’t help but be captivated by the friendliness of its residents and the aromas coming from the restaurants on rue Principale.
Our journey led us to discover ten magnificent treasures, each unique in its own way. From cozy bistros to craft breweries and refined gastronomic tables, every establishment on this list won us over. But Granby is far more than just a culinary destination. It’s a place that draws visitors from everywhere, notably for its famous Zoo, but also for its fine tables and its agritourism experiences. What’s more, Granby is renowned for its festival that puts the agri-food sector forward, Les Folies gourmandes, a must-attend event that showcases the region’s best chefs and producers.
Throughout our stay, we were greeted with incomparable hospitality, every establishment we visited offering us the warmest of welcomes. It’s this spirit of conviviality and generosity that makes Granby so special: a place where visitors are always welcome and where every meal is an experience to savour to the fullest.

Maison Boire — 13, rue Court

Since it opened its doors in 2017, the Maison Boire restaurant in Granby has stood out for its commitment to eco-responsibility, putting respect for seasonality and local sourcing at the forefront of its kitchen. This emblematic restaurant celebrates the diversity of local products, carefully weaving in the flavours and ingredients of each season to offer an authentic and sustainable culinary experience. Beyond the gastronomic delights served in the restaurant, guests have the chance to discover the rooftop gardens, where they can enjoy a glass while taking in the diversity of the products grown there, including vegetables, fresh herbs and flowers. The convivial atmosphere at Maison Boire fosters a genuine exchange between the staff and the clientele, which helps make the experience even more unique. With wood-fire cooking and fresh dishes, its menu is truly refined and inviting; everything is prepared with love and speaks to the local.
Pavane — 120 rue Principale #1

Pavane is the fruit of the collaboration between chef François Côté (formerly of Toqué!, Joe Beef) and sommelier Elsie Gélinas. Nestled on Granby’s charming rue Principale, this establishment stands out as a must-visit destination in the Eastern Townships. The atmosphere in this restaurant breathes rigour and commitment, with a team keen to deliver a first-rate experience to every guest. The dishes are hearty and indulgent, and the sauces are decadent. We have an enormous soft spot for this lovely, unpretentious restaurant that puts Quebec’s seasonal products forward with finesse and gourmandise. In addition to their remarkable wine list, the restaurant offers a selection of cocktails that almost rival the call of a glass of wine. Pavane is a restaurant that will delight the most demanding palates, offering a range of dishes to satisfy every taste. Pavane’s menu changes regularly to reflect the seasons and the inspirations of the moment, guaranteeing an experience that’s always fresh and stimulating.
Le Esmond — 231 rue St Charles S

We fell hard for the splendid Le Esmond restaurant. This place is certainly worth a visit in the region to discover dishes rich in flavour, meticulously crafted with mastery and precision. Run by a charming young couple, this restaurant offers a fresh and contemporary menu that follows the trends. The chef, Antoine Bossé, likes to play with pasta dishes and regularly features them on the slate. If you have the chance to head to Le Esmond, don’t miss tasting the walleye dish served with onion rings. Beyond the exceptional quality of its cuisine and its enticing wine list made up mainly of natural wines, the restaurant caught our attention thanks to its contemporary decor, blending modernity and conviviality, with pretty colourful tableware that adds an extra touch of charm.
Attelier Archibald — 150 rue Saint-Jacques

Whether at lunchtime or for supper, Attelier Archibald will win you over with its bright, refreshing decor that evokes summer. If you get the chance to visit, take a seat on the magnificent mezzanine or on their heated terrace, perfect for enjoying beautiful summer evenings around a wood fire. Although it presents itself as a working-class-cuisine restaurant, Attelier Archibald offers a menu created by Martin Gagnon, blending classic dishes loved by all with bolder, more technical creations. We were won over by the liveliness of the flavours, the artistic presentation of the dishes, and the touch of originality that makes each plate unique. Lovers of fish and seafood will also be charmed by Attelier Archibald.
La Table à Mo — 118 rue Principale

Set on rue Principale in Granby since 2016, La Table à Mo is a must in the town. This little bistro draws a loyal clientele, both at lunchtime and in the evening. Under the direction of chef Marc De Bellefeuille, who has more than twenty years of experience behind the stove, La Table à Mo offers cuisine full of flavour that reinvents the classics of French bistros. Whether for a family meal, a dinner among colleagues or a special occasion, La Table à Mo promises a memorable experience, where every dish is prepared with passion and know-how.
Oblon — 12 rue Principale

Located in Granby, the Oblon restaurant offers creative cuisine where homemade dishes take centre stage. With generosity and decadence, every plate is a real feast for the taste buds. Passionate about microbrewery beers, the establishment also highlights fresh, local products, ensuring impeccable quality while remaining very affordable. Under the guidance of a talented young chef, the pub-style dishes are prepared with care and gourmandise, a testament to real know-how. The establishment stands out for its conviviality and its welcoming atmosphere, where you feel instantly at ease. In the evening, the mood turns festive with entertainment and special events. With a lovely wine list and an atmosphere reminiscent of a bistro pub, Oblon is the ideal place to savour delicious meals and have a good time with friends.
Bistro Kapzak — 108 rue Principale

Kapzak in Granby is far more than just a restaurant: it’s a journey into the heart of the fusion between Polish and Québécois traditions. In the spellbinding world of Bistro Kapzak, every dish tells a story of passion for cooking, love of local products and deep roots between Poland and Quebec. At the heart of their kitchen lies a close collaboration with local producers. Kapzak’s mixology program follows the same philosophy, skilfully marrying local ingredients with classic recipes or creating original concoctions to awaken the taste buds. From the very beginning, Bistro Kapzak has known how to charm and captivate a curious, open-minded clientele. In a rustic-chic-relaxed atmosphere, guests are welcomed like family.
Café de la Brûlerie — 4 rue de la Gare

The Café de la Brûlerie in Granby is not only an excellent coffee roaster, but also a true local institution, prized by the region’s residents and passing visitors alike. In summer, its terrace, set on the banks of the Yamaska River, offers an incomparable atmosphere where it’s good to relax and enjoy the fine weather. Its Tiki bar adds a touch of originality and conviviality to the experience. With a capacity of 300 people, the Café de la Brûlerie is the ideal place for a breakfast, a lunch or a supper in good company. At brunch, you’ll find lovely classic and very indulgent breakfast plates. Later in the day, in addition to their pub-style dishes, you’ll also find a huge selection of burgers. Bought in 2013 by Maxime Poulin and Lisa Auclair, the establishment benefits from a dynamic and passionate team that does everything to offer its customers a memorable visit. Located along the Estriade, this spot also offers a beautiful view of the Yamaska River.
Cantine chez Ben on s’bour la bédaine — 599 rue Principale

Impossible to miss the glowing sign of the Chez Ben on s’bour la bedaine canteen! Standing 10 metres tall, this emblem is a landmark not to be missed in Granby. With its staff in retro shirts and its colourful decor, the canteen offers a warm, nostalgic atmosphere. Since it opened in 1950, Chez Ben on s’bour la bedaine has become one of the most iconic canteens in the Eastern Townships. Anyone who has ever passed through Granby on a road trip has surely made a stop to enjoy one of their famous poutines. The canteen also has a dairy bar where customers can satisfy their sweet tooth. Whether for a tasty break during a day in the region or to relive childhood memories, Chez Ben on s’bour la bedaine is a must-visit destination not to be missed!
