Recently opened, Spuntino brings a fresh Italian touch to the neighbourhood, with a name that literally means “snack” in Italian — a promising hint at a convivial spot where you can settle in at any time of day. The project is the work of Nadia Bilodeau and chef Takeshi Horinoue, already well known for their excellent address, Donato. This time, they’re offering a more relaxed, warm, and accessible space, without sacrificing an ounce of quality.

The decor, imagined by MCD Design, instantly puts you in a good mood: pastel shades of pink and green, a soft green ceiling, pink ceramic tiles lining the walls, a funky tiled floor, large blond-wood tables, and oversized mirrors that amplify the light. The long 15-seat bar invites spontaneous meals or impromptu aperitivos. A colourful, vibrant place, just like the plates it serves.

From morning to night

Spuntino’s menu adapts to every hour of the day. In the morning, enjoy a ricotta and spicy honey toast or a breakfast sandwich; at lunchtime, dig into generous Italian sandwiches like the Polpette (beef and veal meatballs, provolone, tomato sauce, pistachio) or the Milanesa (crispy chicken, mozzarella, tomato, and bomba mayo). In the evening, the menu expands with pizza alla romana and fresh homemade pastas, all as tempting as the next: the simple, comforting Margherita, the Mortadella with pistachio pesto, or the Soppressata piccante with spicy honey. Among the pastas, classics sit alongside more refined creations — Graminiga al ragù bolognese, Ravioli di ricotta, or Mafaldini ai funghi with butter, white wine, lemon and parmesan.

And while the savoury side is enticing, it’s the desserts that steal the show — a refined, delightful surprise that beautifully completes the Italian experience. With no fewer than five options, sweet lovers will be thrilled! Pistachio tiramisu, affogato, chocolate and banana mousse, blood orange cheesecake and, our personal favourite, a silky crème caramel.

The atmosphere is more casual than at Donato: family-friendly, calm and welcoming, perfect for a humble yet always delicious meal. The wine list, curated by Matteo Agostinelli, is 100% Italian, with carefully selected bottles to complement every dish.

Spuntino is a joyful and indulgent address where Italy is lived simply, from morning to night. Auguri!
