Le Mifigue, opened in the summer of 2024 in Orford by Andréa Lemaire, is truly a hidden gem. After a long career in the restaurant industry in Montreal, Andréa decided to settle in Orford—the place where she grew up—to open a space that serves as both a café and a restaurant. The name, a nod to the famous proverb “mi-figue, mi-raisin” (meaning something that is both good and bad or a mix of emotions), perfectly reflects Andréa’s approach: a blend of simplicity and attention to detail.
From the moment you step in, you can feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere that defines Le Mifigue. Andréa envisioned a place where everyone feels at home—whether stopping by alone for a coffee and one of their famous scones or coming with family for a delicious meal. “It’s truly family-oriented and intergenerational,” she says proudly. This spirit is reflected in the menu, where everything is homemade, prepared on-site with fresh ingredients.
Among the must-tries are the breakfast sandwich, French toast, and house-made falafels—a staple that’s here to stay. To complement the food, there are refreshing summer beverages like hibiscus lemonade and strawberry matcha, as well as signature cocktails. Rumor has it that a coconut milk slush margarita is on the menu for this summer—yum!
Le Mifigue is also committed to seasonal products, just as much as it is to creating a warm ambiance. The space boasts two terraces—one at the front and one at the back—where guests can relax and enjoy their coffee or meal in the sunshine.
Andréa is especially proud to have created a meeting place where quality comes first. “Everything we serve on the menu, we take great pride in,” she says. This passion is reflected in the hospitality and generosity of Le Mifigue. Keep an eye out, as the café plans to host several pop-ups and events throughout the summer. If you’re visiting the Eastern Townships, stopping by Le Mifigue is simply a must!
Happy exploring!
