Located in Pointe-Claire, Lou’s opened its doors on November 29, 2023, and is more than just a restaurant. It’s a welcoming space designed to foster moments shared among friends, colleagues, and families, offering an “American-Continental” dining experience.

Pointe-Claire’s Newest Addition

The team—Peter Mant, Max Ruiz Laing, Liam Barron, Renaud Lambert, and Phil Allard—are also behind well-known Montreal spots like Loïc Bar, Name’s on the Way, and several others. With Lou’s, their latest project in the West Island, they aim to fill a unique dining niche and establish a true neighborhood restaurant. The restaurant’s name pays homage to nearby Lac Saint-Louis, just steps away.

A Thoughtfully Designed Atmosphere

For the decor, the team collaborated with Kyle Goforth of Sidlee Design, known for his work on Yama at the Vogue Hotel. The ambiance created is both elegant and warm. From the moment you enter, you’re greeted by a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere, skillfully blending modernity with comfort. The softly lit space can accommodate up to 50 guests, inviting them to relax comfortably on beautiful banquettes or at the bar.

Each team member is dedicated to making your visit to Lou’s memorable and enjoyable, providing service marked by great courtesy and a personalized touch throughout your entire experience with us.

Revisited Diner Classics

Chef Liam Barron (from Loïc Bar) has crafted a menu inspired by classic diner fare. Owner Peter Mant explains, “The idea behind this concept was to offer American classics with a fresh twist and executed with care. While French cuisine is gaining popularity, we believe there’s nothing more comforting than a good meal in this style. Plus, we think it’s a type of food that’s more accessible to people in the neighborhood.”

The starters include a variety of delicious options: onion dip, spicy sea bream carpaccio, beef tartare, and more, priced between $9 and $20. Main dishes feature favorites like Lou’s signature cheeseburger, the Pointe-Claire club sandwich, pasta genovese, striploin steak, and others, with prices ranging from $21 to $36. The prices are set to be affordable for the area.

For drinks, General Manager and mixologist Jono Thorpe has created a selection of house cocktails that perfectly align with the spirit of Lou’s: classic, creative, and fun! The cocktail menu (from $11 to $18) includes options like Lou’s Oldies and the Old Cuban, perfect for kicking off the night or toasting with friends. Martini enthusiasts will be delighted to find several versions of this timeless drink, each carefully crafted. Sommelier Dora Vincze has curated a wine list that features both classic and natural wines, with bottle prices ranging from $48 to $200, plus a few by-the-glass options.

Lou’s is a fantastic addition to Pointe-Claire, offering a great spot to enjoy an evening out with friends, on a date, or even with family. We wish them all the success!

Cheers and enjoy the discovery!
