We’re always on the lookout for festive spots in Laval — places where you eat well, where the energy picks up, and where you can go out as a group without overthinking logistics. Madame Bovary checks all the boxes. Born in Boucherville in 2017, the concept by duo Pierre-André Bédard and Donavan Richard has expanded with a second location at Centropolis since September 2024. Same spirit: gastronomy meets mixology within a vast playground (over 10,000 sq. ft.) designed for both intimate dinners and large group gatherings.

In the kitchen, the founders have teamed up for the past ten years with chef Julien Messier (Prezze Mollo, Maison Baultberri) to create menus that play without losing focus: French bistro style, seasonal products, thoughtfully crafted plates. “We always try to have fun, while keeping the bistro-style French cuisine as our guiding line and working with the seasons as much as possible.” In Laval, this translates into a menu of contemporary sharing plates, paired with signature cocktails and private-import wines.

It’s the kind of place — very superclub in spirit — where you feel like dressing up and treating yourself to seafood platters and top-quality prime rib. That said, don’t overlook the smaller dishes like the venison carpaccio or burrata.

The space houses multiple ambiances under one roof: ideal for a more intimate dinner, to catch a hockey game with friends, celebrate a birthday or dance until 2 a.m. The menu reflects this versatility by offering a variety of plates to suit every mood.

Cocktails have been at the core of the house for more than eight years. “It’s important for us to keep showcasing Quebec’s cocktail culture and help it shine on both the North and South Shores.” Here, you come as much for the drinks as you do for the food — each elevates the other.

When it comes to atmosphere, the Laval location draws inspiration from the world of Madame Bovary: refined design, a 220-seat dining room, three bars, semi-private lounge, karaoke and billiards. The space was clearly designed for large celebrations and corporate events. “We want to be the place where people can come celebrate any occasion… our facilities make it possible.”

We’re sharing it because Madame Bovary in Laval is an ideal spot for a night out with a group. The food is good, the cocktails are great, the space is huge and the ambiance is perfectly built for keeping the evening going.
