Opened in November 2024, Éléonore is the latest project from the Super group (Blind Pig, Waverly, Mineral, Cour Arrière), created to serve both the residents of the Mellem Ville-Marie rental condo development and the surrounding neighborhood. Alongside Junco—its Italian-inspired café-buvette sibling—Éléonore aims to offer a welcoming, unpretentious dining space where quality ingredients are thoughtfully showcased.
The intimate and elegant setting reflects this philosophy: dark walls, brown leather banquettes, green velvet chairs, and lush plants that bring warmth and personality to the space. It’s a cozy atmosphere equally suited to animated conversations or quiet weeknight indulgences.
On the culinary side, the menu shifts gently with the seasons, featuring weekly specials while staying true to French inspiration. Traditional dishes are revisited using local ingredients and a contemporary approach. Highlights include the celery root with bordelaise sauce—rich and refined—and the 20-hour slow-cooked pork belly with roasted onions and jus, a generous plate that lets the ingredients shine without unnecessary frills.
To complement the food, a carefully curated wine list features private imports, many in the $50–$60 range—a delight for both the palate and the wallet.
Éléonore stands out for its honest, precise cooking, where each dish highlights quality products with finesse. But above all, it’s the warm welcome and attentive service that keep guests coming back. This isn’t a place you save for special occasions—it’s the kind of neighborhood spot you return to again and again for its relaxed, down-to-earth charm.
And stay tuned: after Junco and Éléonore, another little bird might just land on Ontario Street…
Happy discovery!
