Opened in summer 2025, Coquette is a neighbourhood buvette set in the heart of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, just steps from Apollo, one of the best cafés in the Québec City region. This charming little address, where the food is genuinely very good, brings a welcome breath of fresh air to a town still relatively short on gastronomic destinations. The project brings together Pierre-Olivier Pelletier and Cassandre Osterroth of Michelin-starred Kebec Club Privé, as well as Véronique Côté and Alexanne Grenier of Torii Izakaya, which has received Bib Gourmand honours. For Alexanne, Coquette also marks a return to her home region, with the desire to contribute, alongside her partners, to the growing culinary vitality of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré.

In the kitchen, you’ll find Marc-Antoine Minot, formerly chef de partie at Laurie Raphaël, where he worked alongside Cassandre and Pierre-Olivier. The menu pays tribute to seafood above all—hence the restaurant’s name: Coquette, an old French term for oyster. The portions, like the menu itself, are small, but each dish is delicate, precise, colorful, and respectful of the ingredients.

To begin, let yourself be tempted by the garnished oysters. Served by the half-dozen, they feature three different toppings inspired by the moment. Hot or cold, sweet or spicy, they’re always delicious. If they’re available, don’t miss the mussels escabèche, served in a fragrant, perfectly balanced fennel broth. Pro tip: order some bread to soak up the last drops—the sourdough bread from local bakery Grignette is served with house-made seaweed butter. Another highlight: the gnocco fritto—an Italian fried dough that’s airy and soft inside, crisp on the outside, reminiscent of a fried ravioli. At Coquette, it comes topped with duck and shiitake, a rich and savory combination. Main courses are just as appealing: seared scallops in a corn cream with fresh corn and garlic scapes, or homemade fresh pasta tossed in a simple spinach pesto. Bonus: the prices are very reasonable!

The cocktail list, crafted by David Desjardins, features creative coquetels that balance originality with expertise. The wine list is equally thoughtful. With only 35 seats, the atmosphere is intimate yet laid-back. The open kitchen invites you to watch the chefs and mixologist at work, while still allowing space for conversation. Whether it’s a romantic dinner at the bar or a lively evening with friends sharing plates, Coquette delivers. The décor, inspired by the Roaring Twenties, blends delicate shades of pink, while the rooftop terrace offers a breathtaking view of the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, the city’s iconic architectural masterpiece.

In short, Coquette lives up to its name: from the décor to the menu, everything is charming, refined, and just a little coquettish. A spot destined to delight the neighborhood for years to come.
