The best wine bars in Paris

The best wine bars in Paris are invitations to travel and discover dazzling terroirs. In France, wine is almost a religion, and the vineyards of the Hexagon offer Paris an impressive selection in the numerous wine bars of the capital. All origins are represented, of course, from the regions of France—Burgundy, Bordeaux, Loire, Catalonia, Jura, and others—but also from all countries with both classic and dynamic winemakers. You can taste wines from far-off places—such as the United States, Argentina, Chile, or South Africa—as well as from closer regions that are equally delightful, like Germany, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. These establishments are gaining popularity worldwide, and Paris is no exception. The wine bars offer impressive wine lists as well as tempting menus. More relaxed than classic restaurants, they are perfect for enjoying a drink and a small bite.

LE VERRE VOLÉ

In the 10th arrondissement, this institution located just steps from the Canal Saint-Martin has been bustling since it opened over 20 years ago (!) and for good reason. Delicious seasonal dishes served in a flash, classic plates that never get old, and one of the finest natural wine cellars in the capital. PS: It’s impossible to leave Paris without trying the knife-cut sausage or the blood sausage, which are synonymous with comfort for many Parisians.

Folderol

“Ice cream and wine” — this concept has everything to please and continues to delight anyone who walks through the doors of this beautiful establishment in the 11th arrondissement. From the moment it opened, numerous customers have crowded the sidewalks, holding a scoop of ice cream and a glass of wine. The wine list is well-curated, and the venue offers some of the best ice cream in Paris; it’s hard to refuse that. While the flavors change with the seasons, some classics remain on the menu, lest they face the wrath of loyal fans. We highly recommend the olive oil ice cream; just saying…

Le Clown Bar - Restaurant

Just steps from the Cirque d’Hiver in the 11th arrondissement, Le Clown Bar is a go-to spot for any natural wine enthusiast. The typically Parisian decor is absolutely stunning! Beautiful labels, old vintages. It is also possible to dine here with a menu of creative dishes that is more structured than that of a classic wine bar. For example, you wouldn’t think twice about trying the pithiviers. Although the place is called Clown Bar, when it comes to the cuisine, there’s no joking around.

Passerina

Passerina is the wine bar of the Passerini restaurant in the 12th arrondissement, which was named the best Italian restaurant in Paris in 2023. And it has nothing to envy from its older sibling. They offer great bottles, primarily from Italy, and delightful small dishes to share, all equally tasty, in a beautiful little space with a central bar where you could comfortably linger for hours. Here, you must try the Roman-style tripe and the delightfully creamy risotto.

In short, it’s a lively neighborhood wine bar, just the way we like it!

Buttes Snack Bar

Buttes Snack Bar

Nestled at the foot of the Buttes Chaumont, Buttes Snack Bar is a fantastic spot in the 19th arrondissement that invites you to celebrate, where good wine flows freely. To ensure the wine doesn’t go to your head too quickly, the cheerful team prepares seasonal treats for you. In winter, you’ll fall for the Mont D’Or to share or the squid ink risotto. In summer, enjoy lighter yet equally delightful dishes.

An unmissable wine bar on Rue Oberkampf, Aux Deux Amis offers a festive atmosphere at all times. There’s plenty of delightful wine, a distinctly Parisian service, a wine bar menu scribbled on a piece of paper, and vintage Art Deco decor; it’s the recipe for a well-lubricated evening in the 11th arrondissement! David, the owner, welcomes you as if you were friends.
