Where to Lunch in Lévis?

Presented by

In collaboration with Tourisme Chaudière-Appalaches, here are our favourite spots to grab lunch in Lévis.

We’ll be honest: when we started working on our Lévis food guide, we didn’t expect to uncover so many hidden gems. We knew the ferry, the view over Québec City, and Old Lévis with its sloped streets and century-old houses. But the food scene? We discovered it for real, one address at a time, and we were pleasantly surprised.

Lévis is a city where people take pride in what they do. We felt it everywhere — in the specialty grocers who welcomed us like regulars, at the counters where everything is prepared same-day, and in the microbreweries brewing beer just steps from the river. There’s a quiet energy here, a mix of know-how and generosity that makes you want to come back. And above all, there are places where you genuinely eat well at lunchtime, whether you need a quick bite between meetings, a team lunch, or a solo food break.

What we loved most about Lévis is the sheer variety on offer. One minute you’re digging into BBQ smoked on-site by a passionate young pitmaster, the next you’re at a specialty grocer where Pier-Luc welcomes you like family. There’s a café on a mission against food waste, a generous Tunisian counter, a microbrewery with views of Old Québec City. And in between, grocer-counters where the homemade prepared dishes are always good, and you never leave without something extra in the bag.

We combed the neighbourhoods — Saint-Nicolas, Saint-Romuald, Old Lévis — to track down the best lunch options. We tasted, we chatted with the owners, we took notes (and plenty of photos!). Here are our favourite spots to spend a good lunch hour. Because lunch is sacred, and Lévis clearly gets that.

Le Hangar Fumoir - Authentique BBQ style texan

Le Hangar Fumoir puts Texas BBQ front and centre: brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and the burnt ends everyone’s talking about. Everything is smoked on-site with real skill by a young, passionate owner. Come here to stock up on vacuum-sealed smoked meats with a few well-made sides. Thursday poutine nights draw a loyal crowd too. In short, all the BBQ classics are here, and they’re all good. The burger on this list’s cover photo actually comes from here. Our favourite spot in the area!

Alicia Sanchez, épicerie fine

We love this address. If you’re into aperitivo culture, quality products, and personal service, Alicia Sanchez will become your new favourite spot. It brings together everything you need for a great apéro: artisanal charcuterie, fine cheeses, antipasti, and delicious finds. We also love its selection of private-import wines, ready-to-share boards, gourmet gift boxes, and sandwiches. The counter has plenty of lunch options too. Always warmly greeted by Pier-Luc — the service is INCREDIBLE.

O'Ravito Café & Traiteur

Driven by a mission close to our hearts, O’Ravito Café is a can’t-miss stop in Lévis. Barista coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, and treats made by Ann-Rika Martin. There’s always a daily lunch special, good frozen or ready-made options in the fridge, plus homemade cookies and other sweets. A meeting room is available for business lunches.

Délicatesse Aux P'tits Oignons

Délicatesse Aux P’tits Oignons blends neighbourhood café, gourmet counter, and specialty grocer. For over 30 years, people have come here for coffee roasted on-site, pastries and viennoiserie, daily homemade dishes, and a great selection of fine cheeses, local charcuterie, and imported products. We especially loved the variety of sandwiches available. It’s a grocery store, so it’s super handy for putting together a lunch, but the large counter also serves prepared dishes for every taste.

Los Balderas

An address worth discovering, built around authentic Mexican cooking. Everything is made from scratch: tortillas, marinades, and salsas crafted with peppers imported from Mexico that make all the difference. Among the must-orders: tacos al pastor, cooked on the spit and sliced to order. The restaurant, with both a dining room and a terrace (we love it in summer!), occasionally hosts live musicians. A solid Mexican option for lunch.

Intimissime

L'Intimiste

L’Intimiste lives up to its name: a hushed dining room, polished service, and elegant atmosphere. You can come here for the table or for the lounge. The menu features masterful classic cooking where game, fish, and seafood take the spotlight, backed by a well-built wine list. A safe bet for a tête-à-tête or a special occasion.

Restaurant Okla

Okla serves simple, generous counter-style cooking inspired by Tunisia. Come for the sandwiches, poutines, burgers, mini-pizzas, and rice-salad-meat plates. Everything is homemade, service is quick and to the point, and the portions satisfy without weighing you down. They’re best known for their stuffed chicken baguette.
