Victoria Verre Amical is the brand-new restaurant by the renowned chef Marie-Fleur St-Pierre! Located in the picturesque village of Saint-Pascal, this address is very charming! It’s a space where history and passion come together to create an experience that reflects the chef’s personality. The lovely setting offers a delightful atmosphere that makes for a wonderful evening!
Why “Victoria Verre Amical”? The name is a nod to the former restaurant that occupied this location, once called Victoria, as well as a charming anecdote: the paint color chosen for the restaurant was called “friendly green.” By playing with words, Marie-Fleur and her team transformed “green” into “verre” (glass), evoking a convivial space where people gather over a good drink. This simple detail perfectly embodies the spirit of the place: warm, welcoming, and rooted in its environment and history.
Housed in an iconic building in Kamouraska, Victoria Verre Amical is much more than just a restaurant. “Everyone has a story connected to this place,” explains Marie-Fleur. Located just a few steps from the chef’s home, the restaurant is part of a local anchoring initiative, far from tourist areas, offering an authentic experience accessible to year-round residents. It’s this connection to the community that makes the place so special. We’re only 10 minutes away from Kamouraska, and the building has a lot of charm.
A Market Cuisine and a Friendly Atmosphere
The restaurant’s concept is simple: a welcoming place to enjoy a drink or savor a quality meal at a reasonable price. The menu, created by Marie-Fleur herself, highlights seasonal and market products, with a particular focus on fish and dishes with an Asian twist. The pork chop, one of the house specialties, is a must-try for regulars. For our part, we recommend ordering all the appetizers and sharing!
In summer, the menu remains more stable to take advantage of the season’s fresh produce, while in the off-season, Marie-Fleur allows herself to play more with flavors, regularly refreshing the dishes to surprise and delight her customers.
A Passionate Team
Victoria Verre Amical is also home to a fantastic team! Alongside Marie-Fleur, you’ll find Hélène McKoy and Samuel Dionne, both co-owners involved in various capacities in the local life of Kamouraska. Samuel, a local, brings valuable knowledge of the region’s produce, while Hélène, like Marie-Fleur, is a Montrealer who has fallen in love with Kamouraska and the area.
The decor and branding have been crafted with love by the team themselves, adding a personal and authentic touch to every corner of the restaurant. The warm atmosphere is enhanced by thoughtfully designed details, creating a space where you immediately feel at home. It’s beautiful, harmonious, and welcoming.
A Promising Future for Victoria Verre Amical
Since its pre-opening in November 2023, where the first holiday dinners were served, to its official opening in March 2024, Victoria Verre Amical has continued to captivate. With Julien Vézina from Hono at the helm of the cocktail menu and wines selected in collaboration with local importers, the dining experience is complete and refined.
But beyond the dishes and drinks, what the owners cherish most is the atmosphere that permeates the restaurant. The train passing nearby, the energy that emanates from this place created with modest means, and above all, the freedom they have found in this project.
Victoria Verre Amical is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood, a heartfelt project where you can eat very well, and a charming space. Long live Victoria Verre Amical!
