For fresh dishes with Greek flavors in an elegant and welcoming setting, head to MÀTI. This project, born from the partnership between Carma Hospitality and the Tomahawk Group, is already turning heads.

Located in a sumptuous venue on Saint-Paul Street West, MÀTI is a true gem. The establishment, renovated with earthy tones and modern tastes, features a beautifully tasteful decor. The lighting (stunning!) adds a touch of modernity that blends perfectly with the timeless charm of Old Montreal. A unique feature of MÀTI is its bar, slightly hidden at the back of the restaurant, offering a cozy and intimate atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail for two.

So, what can you eat there? The focus is really on sharing dishes. At MÀTI, you’ll find generous and flavorful plates inspired by Greek cuisine. The dishes are simple but very well executed. Don’t miss the dips served with their homemade grilled pita bread to start your meal. We particularly enjoyed the watermelon salad served with feta, pistachios, and honey. The loukaniko (grilled sausage) pleasantly surprised us, but the star of the meal is definitely the 24-hour braised lamb with its reduction – simply decadent! As for the prices, you can get away with a reasonable bill if the dishes are shared among several people, but it can add up quickly.

We’re talking about MÀTI because it’s a great addition to Old Montreal, a neighborhood rich in good and very good restaurants, but with few offering high-quality Greek dishes in the Old Port area. Successfully combining excellent cuisine, a warm ambiance, and impeccable service, MÀTI should quickly earn a spot on our list of the Best Greek Restaurants in Montreal. So, the next time you’re in the Old Port, don’t hesitate to indulge in this Greek tavern!

Happy discovery!
