Daldongnae: One of Montreal’s top spots for Korean BBQ

Daldongnae is the Korean BBQ restaurant that’s all the rage on Sainte-Catherine Street West. With its decadent formula, the place is definitely one of the best Korean BBQ restaurants in the city.

The restaurant, named Daldongnae in homage to Seoul’s moon villages, captures the essence of old-world customs in conviviality and generosity. The expression “Daldongnae” alludes to the feelings of tranquillity and nostalgia that emanate from this rich cultural heritage.

At Daldongnae, you’ll find classic Korean bbq, one of the most popular Korean culinary traditions the world over. The restaurant doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it does offer consistency. You choose your meat, vegetables and side dishes, then the team brings them to you and fires up the grill. You can choose from a wide variety of cuts of pork, beef or wagyu (a vegan option is also available) as well as an array of starter dishes, such as the spicy stew with soft tofu, delicious and full of flavour. The seafood and spring onion crêpe also won us over, and we highly recommend it. To accompany the protein, apart from the grilled vegetables, you have a choice of side dishes, from kimchi to corn and cheese to omelette. So get grilling!

Restaurants open on Tuesdays

Finding a restaurant open on Tuesdays is becoming challenging. Some restaurants choose to take a break at the beginning of the week.
