Nestled in a raw, industrial space halfway between Mile End and Little Italy, Foil Gallery redefines the traditional art gallery experience. Conceived by the duo of Frédéric Duquette (FVCKRENDER) and Jo-Anie Charland, this unique venue blends a gallery, café, and bar—an immersive experience that stimulates all the senses.

After showcasing their work worldwide, the couple often encountered the cold and unwelcoming atmosphere of certain art galleries. “We wanted to create a space where art is lived without pretension, where everyone feels welcome,” explains Frédéric. Their goal? To transform the way people experience art by offering an inspiring, warm, and accessible environment.

Foil Gallery doesn’t just display art—it brings it to life through its LAB, an audiovisual laboratory showcasing digital creations. The gallery’s soundscape is curated by Olivier Lamontagne, Foil’s sound director. Pushing the sensory experience even further, the space features a signature fragrance custom-designed by DS & Durga, a renowned New York perfumery.

Far from the elitist image of traditional galleries, Foil Gallery is a hybrid space where visitors can admire art, enjoy a daytime coffee, or sip on cocktails in the evening—soon to be added alongside their current lineup of mocktails. Each cocktail will be inspired by the exhibited works, extending the artistic experience into the glass. The back room will host workshops, creative gatherings, private events, and more.

Foil Gallery collaborated with local talent to bring this refined yet raw space to life. The architecture is designed by Atelier L’Abri, while the construction was entrusted to Modulor. The name “Foil” reflects their philosophy—an ode to the “finer objects in life,” celebrating beauty in its purest and most timeless form.

We love this space, where creativity, conversation, and inspiration flow freely. It’s no surprise that Foil Gallery also ranks among our list of the most beautiful cafés in the city.

Enjoy your visit!
