YATAI MTL is back from June 4 to 7, 2026, at Bassin Peel in Griffintown. Quebec’s largest Japanese street market, drawing more than 45,000 people over four days, celebrates Japanese culture through its food stalls, artisan vendors and cultural programming.
Behind YATAI is ASIASIE, a non-profit organization founded in 2018 by Yasuko Tadokoro and Thien Vu Dang, dedicated to building bridges between Asia and Quebec through gathering, accessible projects fuelled by the simple joy of connection. With YATAI, the organization celebrates Japanese culture while supporting local businesses.
On the menu: Japanese street food in every form, from crispy-crusted katsu to onigiri, okonomiyaki, yakisoba and plenty of other Japanese delights. Among this year’s expected vendors are KATSUYA, Comon, Le Drunken Rabbit, Dano and Cloud 8.
