In partnership with Tourisme Chaudière-Appalaches, we tracked down the most beautiful terraces in Lévis, just steps from the river!
We tend to picture waterfront cocktails happening somewhere far away — a Mediterranean port, a dock on some postcard island, a boarding pass and a few hours in the air. It’s easy to forget we have exactly that feeling right here in Quebec. In Lévis, the St. Lawrence River isn’t a view you admire from a distance — it’s part of everyday life, wide and alive, with Quebec City sketched out on the opposite shore. And a handful of terraces have set up shop in exactly the right spot to make the most of it.
Summer is when these addresses really come into their own. The days stretch out, the air smells like river water and sun-warmed dock, and there’s that simple pleasure of sitting outside with nowhere else to be. A cold cocktail sweating in the glass, a plate to share, boats and ferries drifting back and forth, then the sky turning orange over Quebec City as the sun sets behind it — Lévis has a view worth envying, plus a riverside walk to help it all settle before heading home.
What stands out is the range. One minute you’re at a marina with New England energy, the next at an unpretentious neighbourhood spot; one rooftop terrace is open sunrise to sunset, another table is tucked away in the greenery for something more intimate. There’s something here for Sunday brunch, for the post-work pint, and for date night. In partnership with Tourisme Chaudière-Appalaches, we combed through Lévis to find the gems. Here’s our pick of the most beautiful Lévis terraces, all just steps from the river — the kind of spots that make you want to explore everything Lévis has to offer.
QUAI 1635 - Lévis
Set right on the marina, Quai 1635 has that transporting quality the moment you sit down: oversized umbrellas, clean lines, and a light palette that reads distinctly New England, like a slice of Cape Cod dropped onto the South Shore. The terrace looks straight out onto docked sailboats, and the sound of hulls knocking against the pontoons is part of the charm. Come for a drink in the sun or settle in for a meal, right up against the river, with an American-seaside feel built for hot days. Hard to find anything more summery without leaving the region.

La Cour arrière de Lévis
You won’t get closer to the St. Lawrence than this: at La Cour Arrière, the long picnic tables face the water — it’s literally steps from the river. You can’t swim here, but there are shallow pools for cooling your feet off when the heat climbs. The place is packed with energy: a volleyball court, a small stage with regular live music, a food truck, and cocktails and beers making the rounds in a relaxed, festive atmosphere. It’s lively without being intimidating — families and groups of friends settle in just as easily. A rooftop terrace built for private events adds one more reason to stick around. You plan for an hour and end up staying all afternoon.

Délice Resto Lounge
Délice has been part of the Lévis landscape since 1970(!), and that longevity shows in how easily the place welcomes just about anyone, at just about any hour. Open from morning to night, it moves through brunch, lunch, happy hour, and dinner without missing a beat. Its standout feature is a massive rooftop terrace: roughly 300 seats suspended above the city, with the river and Quebec City as the backdrop. Pick your moment, take a seat, and take in the view. It’s the ultimate all-purpose address — the one you come back to without overthinking it.
Lévis
Le Corsaire - Microbrasserie Pirate / Pub La Traverse
Le Corsaire is the classic pub-brewery. The food is comforting and straightforward, the kind of plate that calls for a cold beer at the end of the day — think fish and chips, scallops, smoked meat poutine, and more. Its sunny terrace has prime real estate: directly across from the Lévis ferry terminal, where you can watch ferries shuttle back and forth to Quebec City and nod across the water at the Château Frontenac. The vibe is casual, friendly, and unpretentious — exactly what you want to unwind with coworkers or friends. A great lunch spot to hit with friends.
Lévis
Le Théophile - Restaurant
Located close to the river but without a view of it, Le Théophile offers a different kind of evening — one that takes its time. The intimate terrace, dressed in wood and greenery, has the feel of a charming bistro, the sort of place you settle into as the light fades, warm, cozy, and a little romantic. The cooking here is especially thoughtful, making it a solid pick for date night or an occasion worth marking. If it’s on the menu, go for the Gaspésie lobster on sourdough with bisque, labneh, and radish. The cocktail-and-popsicle duo was another favourite — a must this summer. Le Théophile is one of our favourite addresses in Lévis, and since the river is never far, there’s nothing stopping you from taking a walk along the water once dinner’s done to stretch the evening out a little longer.
Lévis
Les Bleuets du Vire-Crêpes
This one pulls you a little further from the water, but trades it for a view worth the detour: the terrace at Les Bleuets du Vire-Crêpes overlooks blueberry fields as far as the eye can see. The setting feels like the countryside, calm and pastoral, the kind of place that invites you to slow down, especially in the morning. It’s the brunch spot you want, the kind where you linger over your plate while your eyes wander over the rows of green. For anyone with a sweet tooth, the three-fruit crêpe delivers: blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries, topped with house-made pastry cream, dark and white chocolate, and maple syrup. When you want to swap the buzz of the waterfront for a little rural quiet, this is exactly where to go.
Saint-Nicolas
L’Ironie du 13
On paper, a microbrewery tucked into an industrial area doesn’t sound especially charming, and that’s exactly what makes L’Ironie du 13 such a pleasant surprise. Once you’re seated on the terrace, the surroundings disappear entirely — the setup creates its own relaxed, welcoming bubble. It’s a great spot for sharing a few bites while working your way through the house beers, no fuss involved. Whether it’s coworkers after work or friends on a weeknight, this address checks every box for a good happy hour.
